Pilates for Golfers

Pilates for golfers is great for increasing power production and control of the body’s rotational movement to swing. Pilates can also improve posture and reduce postural pain which is commonly found due to the forward and rounded body position required for golf.

How it works

Pilates is an overall body conditioning workout consisting of various floor based exercises designed to progress through levels as your strength and muscle endurance increases. The exercises work the entire body and focus on developing deep core strength for a solid central base for movement. A solid central base allows for greater power production with every swing during golf, increasing accuracy and distance of the ball.

Pilates is a controlled series of fluent movements which also stretch the muscles to relieve any tightness or tension which could restrict performance. Pilates also reduces risk of injury which may be acquired through repetitive trunk rotation, squatting to pick the ball up and prolonged walking.
